What is it and for what it is for?
The web module is an application which allows, via the use of a web Browser (Internet Explorer or compatible), the remote consulting of the Staff on Time database and its exportation to the CSV format.
There is no need to install additional software in the computers since it is installed in the biometric server which controls the Terminal (in the headquarters).
It is especially useful for companies which have different head offices and want to consult directly from the central data from the sign ups collected and generated by Staff on Time without the necessity to have a VPN or send database to someone.
The responsible for HR can consult any head office, from any head office or central included from the Internet (if the network’s Administrator configures it for it).
How is it made of?
It is programmed in ASP.NET with JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
It works with the Server of web pages “Internet Information Server v.5.1" which is installed in the biometric server and is included with Windows XP Profesional SP2.
Use also of NET Framework 2. It is a program which translates ASP.NET a HTML pages, format understood by the web browser.
Internet’s Web browser
Compatibility tested with Internet Explorer 6 and Mozilla Firefox 1.4.
It is compatible with the more usual browsers.
How does it work?
Reports
After being registered, the user will be able to enter in the Web Module.
The user will be able to select the filters that are more relevant and will generate the report and visualise it or export it to CSV.
Configuration
There are only two parametres to configurate:
Language: each user can configurate the language in which the user wants to have the Web Module.
There is one exception: the calendar to select the days will be in the language of the local “regional configuration of Windows” which is the computer from where the consulting is done.
Origin of the BBDD: to select which BBDD to consult in the Web Module.
Only the users/Administrators (and who connect themselves locally) will be able to do it.
Users
In this part the Administrator administrates the users in the Web Module.
There are two types of users in the Web Module:
- Administrators: can realize
changes to other users of
the Web Module and modify
the “Origin of database”.
- "Other users": can only modify their user name and login. Can not modify the “Origin of database”.
Things which can not be done
- Modify the content of the Staff on Time.
- Access to remote’s BBDD.
The BBDD the Web Module’s
accesses always have to be
in the Biometric Server.
